TRAVEL DESTINATION #1: DANANG, VIETNAM

FLYING TIME: Sydney-Ho Chi Minh City (8hr 55m) – Flying Vietnam Airlines

Ho Chi Minh City – Danang (1hr 15m)

DESTINATION REVIEW:

This past year I made the decision introducing the household to East Asia, and Vietnam. Some might say a unique destination to go to with 3 youthful children (Twin 9 years old women along with a 6 years old boy) as different cultures, language and cuisine could be a challenge for that children! A brief trip to Ho Chi Minh earlier this year triggered a powerful urge to see much more of this unique country and my look for a family, beach side holiday initially came me to Vietnam’s East Cost and 4th largest city, Da Nang.

Da Nang marks the midway point between your capital within the north, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City within the south. Aside from some shopping highlights and historic sites, the primary reason behind most vacationers remaining here’s its closeness to the well-known China Beach, Lang Co Beach, Hoi An and My Boy.

WHERE I Remained: FUSION MAIA RESORT, DA NANG:

FUSION MAIA RESORT, DA NANGThe option of resorts and hotels within this place in the world is plentiful, so my decision ultimately came lower to some recommendation from your East Asia specialist supplier, Travel Indochina. Located directly on among the world’s most breathtaking beaches, China Beach, the Fusion Concept is straightforward and different, supplying visitors having a harmonious mixture of "a healthier lifestyle and involving luxuries". This can be a 5-Star Resort unlike any other, supplying a range of magnificently hired accommodation, with their particular private plunge pool and courtyard garden. If first class accommodation and placement isn’t enough to lure you, then possibly the inclusion of Maia Health spa services will! Yes, it is really an all-inclusive resort having a difference. Throughout your stay, adults are titled to two FREE health spa treatments each day (per adult) in the Maia Health spa, the biggest available in Vietnam. Following a full day’s beach, sun, shopping and eating, the Maia Health spa is an extremely welcome sight for tired and weary bones!

ACCOMMODATION:

FUSION MAIA RESORT, DA NANGYou’ve got a selection of 3 room groups at Fusion Maia, but no matter your concluding decision, either the swimming pool, Health spa or Beach Villas will satisfy! Every rental property includes its very own private plunge pool, courtyard garden and modern appliances – including your own iPad with incorporated wi-fi access! The villa’s are large, so we found the two bed room greater than spacious for any group of 5 (having a roll away bed though)!

FOOD:

FUSION MAIA RESORT FOODThere’s two restaurant possibilities at Fusion Maia, both supplying a fantastic number of local and western food at Very affordable prices for any high finish resort. Recption menus here’s amazing, and also the food was absolutely authentic. Our children were happy using their choices also! If eating in-home is not your factor, there’s an array of quality restaurants from our area serving great, cheap food to fulfill any taste bud! The sea food is especially good – but ask concierge or hotel staff to create a recommendation. Worth noting that breakfast is incorporated inside your room rate, and you’ve got the posh of selecting to savor breakfast anywhere and anytime – at the lake, inside your room or perhaps in the Fusion Lounge in Hoi An!

How About The Children?

kidAlthough the accommodation doesn’t particularly look after children’s activities, our kids weren’t bored. The mixture of games room, resort pool, beach and frequent day journeys directly into Hoi An and native villages not just stored the children entertained for 8 days, but additionally provided all of them with a distinctive cultural experience that they could not wait to inform their school buddies upon coming back to Australia! Add the friendly and useful staff, also it was certainly a vacation which delivered on all levels for all of us!

MUST DO’S:

1. Jack Tran’s Hoi An Eco-tours (Fishing Village Tour)

2. Tailored Clothes and Footwear shopping in Hoi An

3. Make certain you discover time to slot in all your Incorporated health spa treatments!

4. Breakfast in the Fusion Lounge in Hoi An

TRAVEL TIPS:

I acquired my visa from My Vietnam Visa. The procedure was quite simple and definitely less costly than various ways. However, make sure you download and pre-complete the appearance forms before you decide to land, or else you will fins yourself spending a substantial amount of time in the customs lounge carrying this out!

Make sure to leave yourself a minimum of 2 hrs connection time if transiting through Ho Chi Minh City. Customs procedures are a lot slower as numerous other nations and can slow you up

The domestic airport terminal is right on the doorstep, however still a 15 minute leave with luggage may take longer.

When you are creating a domestic transfer, you won’t be permitted to keep any fluids. If you have obtained duty free alcohol or perfumes/aftershave, make certain you insert them in your checked luggage!

Although the neighborhood curreny may be the Vietnamese Dong, $ $ $ $ are broadly recognized (actually, I compensated for that majoriity of products in USD! I travelled having a US$ Mastercard Cash Passport that was a handy type of payment.

SUMMARY: Da Nang continues to be around the holiday map for any lengthy time, and thankfully is not over-run with vacationers like the majority of other Asian Beach destinations. I enjoyed everything relating to this holiday, the folks, the meals, the sights and importantly the good value (the Aussie dollar goes a really lengthy way!).

Its proximately to Hoi An provided us the chance to venture to the ancient town for the shopping ‘fix’, that is a must for tailored clothes, footwear and souvenirs. However it was great to understand that people had the ability to return to the privacy and seclusion in our resort and from the tourist crowds following a lengthy day’s haggling!

I possibly could not fault Fusion Maia nor the all-inclusive Health spa concept. All of us enjoy a little bit of pampering whenever we continue holidays – but to get it incorporated is an ideal value add. Given food and eating generally is extremely affordable in Vietnam, incorporated health spa treatments is unquestionably less expensive when compared to a incorporated meals!

JC’s Road Trip – Vietnam Pt 12 – Averaged costs Da Nang / Hoi An

Video COMMENTS:

1990: There's something about Vietnam that doesn't have the appeal of Thailand, although I haven't been to the former, although I have to say Hoi An is stunningly beautiful. \n\nVietnam seems quite a bit more expensive than Thailand. I'm basing that comment on prices in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.\n\nJC, was the motorbike you were on outside the restaurant a Yamaha Exciter 150?\n\nAnother interesting video.

retirecheapjc: yes but if we want the same lifestyle as back in our home country than ALL SE Asian and Latin countries will be even more expensive than back home. ANYTHING that the average citizen doesn't use will be inordinately more expensive than even in our own countries.

1990: Best to shed your possessions. So many people have so much stuff they don't need.\n\nLive a simple life.

Mia P: love the way you pronounce Danang…most of foreigners saying it wrong…well not wrong, but not Danang's dialect :)

Peter Suthers: hey JC great video watch this video a couple of times I've visited Danang this year 2017 in February for one month and I absolutely enjoyed I also visited Hoi An and Hue great cities to visit I also renting an apartment in Danang for one month $400 American the apartment was about 5 Street back from the beach front great place to visit.

retirecheapjc: While Peter am happy that these videos were useful for you and that you enjoyed your trip so much. Many great places to see and visit in Vietnam and a couple I even feel would be great places to live.

Peter Suthers: retirecheapjc retiring in Vietnam is a option I like that option jc Danang would be a good place to retire .

Helga Christ: Can you find uber / grabcar there?

retirecheapjc: I don't think they have Uber in Vietnam. They have a thriving and cheap taxi system so I don't think that will allow it. But Thailand now has Uber and there's a big confrontation with the taxis and Songtaow drivers. And if I'm not mistaken there starting up in Cambodia now as well.

Beer Monkey: A lot of your followers are hearing impaired, how about having CC?
